Another season on the water and another season closer to going broke. These days it’s hard to find riders willing to pay for gas and it’s even harder to find a ride that wont charge you an arm and a leg. It’s safe to say that we all understand the fact that a wakeboard boat likes to guzzle the gas down. Instead of giving up on a sport you love here is a simple solution to fighting those high gas price blues.
Head on down to your local hardware store. Canadian Tire will do. For a $10 investment you can purchase a 20L gas can. After grabbing your new gas can head on down to a marina gas station or any gas station you can find that offers a marine fuel (marked gas). This usually saves you a little bit on the litre but check to make sure.
Most boat owners don’t care whether its cash or gas as long as you’re not running their boat for nothing. It’s small tips like this that will keep you on the water as much as possible. Some local marinas if your lucky enough to have one on your lake will allow you to run a tab which might be more convenient.
Remember to pitch in for your time and rip it up this summer!
